History of the Tomorrow movies

The Tomorrow Series has been considered for film production for close to a decade.

Author John Marsden first sold the rights to bring the series to television/film to Sydney writer and producer Esben Storm. As of March 2008, Esben Storm lost the rights to the films due to contract expiration.

Between March of 2008 and June of 2009 a number of different drafts and writers were taken in to consideration and on June 16th 2009 Screen Australia finally announced that it will be funding the development of the feature film with renown screenwriter Stuart Beattie taking the reins making this his directing debut. Andrew Mason will be producing for Ambience Entertainment. Casting began in late June ’09 with reports suggesting filming to begin in September 2009.
