TWTWB.com Online
The official film site to promote the film “Tomorrow: When The War Began”, was launched today at www.twtwb.com.
Taking inspiration from the John Marsden novels and by working closely with the film makers, Tequila crafted an extremely detailed and accurate map of the fictional Wirrawee town, complete with housing, roads, rivers and bridges. The interactive map is the interface for the audience to explore and discover TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN content.
A full digital strategy was devised in conjunction with Paramount, their agency MEC Global and Tequila incorporating Facebook and Twitter activities that will drive fans to twtwb.com where exclusive video content will be regularly added throughout the campaign. The audience can also participate in competitions and enjoy free content A fun teaser site, wirrawee.com.au was also created and launched in June this year for fans to indulge themselves in the fictional town Wirrawee and to also uncover hidden content and a secret video message. This “Wirrawee Town” site can now be accessed through the official website www.twtwb.com
“Our goal was to engage the current fan base of the John Marsden novels and create a truly engaging interactive site that could feed their appetite for content and broaden our audience leading into the film’s release. Tequila understood our vision to interact, engage and create a site that fits with international standards”, said Cate Smith, Marketing Director Paramount Pictures Australia.
“Extending the narrative into the interactive space is really where we see the future of entertainment marketing. It’s a real privilege to work with like-minded people when working on projects like this,” said Russ Tucker, Tequila’s Creative Director.
YAY!!! Too bad for this site though … I thought you guys were as close as we would get to having an official site. But still … YAY!!! Hopefully this’ll get even more publicity, resulting in more ppl watching the movie, resulting in 2 and 3 being made as well! Plus the rest!!!
AND FIRST COMMENT!!!
Nick and the rest of us are dedicated to bringing news to the fans when we hear, we were never so much a site for the movie but a site for the fans old and new who have been waiting for this series to make it to the screen big or small.
A truly innovative and impressive site and the level of content is beyond what you find on most sites, even for some of the large Hollywood productions and such.
I love it! I absolutely love it!
I love how far they’ve gone, good marketing can really sell a story. I hope it goes so far as to earn a sequel.
LOVE IT! Especially the character bios and videos- can’t stop clicking on Deniz’- he’s way hotter than Robert Pattinson!
And he is clearly the better actor.
WazzuMan so u agree he’s hot?? lol
That is totally true! Yay for an aussie who can act and looks good!
IT IS GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m happy with it, but now I think it’s time for european release dates!!
Wow, everytime I see the trailer I get so excited! Its finally being made after all the years waiting
The site is amazing, I keep watching the interviews as you get to see some extra scenes!!
The site looks great, although it looks like theres already a couple of very small changes with facts in the movie. The website says that Chris was not invited on the trip, but he was and it also says that Robyn is younger then all of the others (although I can’t actually remember if it says that in the book) But yeah nothing major – I suppose changes like these were to be expected.
But yeah great site – and I love the wirrawee website.
Initially Chris wasn’t invited on the trip when they first set off. Chris came into the scene when Lee was rescued from his restaraunt and they stole Chris’ car to make the trip back to Ellie’s. He was hiding out since the invasion started.
I’m reading the book occasionally to refresh my memory before the release of the movie but cannot remember where abouts the information is on Robyn. I can’t even give you an estimated guess.
Was Chris uninvited, or was he invited but couldn’t make it there?
Chris was invited, but couldn’t make it. Ellie asks him when he and his father visits Ellie’s house. That’s how they know that his parents are oversea.
FINALLY!!! We get a map of Wirrawee!! And it looks great too…interactive…i love it
My cousin has just lent me the books, a month ago and now i find out these awesome books i have been reading have been turned into a movie!!! YAY!! Coincedence much. =]
YAY! Best book ever turned into movie. Just hope they don’t stuff it but have confidence in them.
ths site is still the site i will go 2 first. been comin here 4 ages! waitn 4 the movie 33 dyas 2go!
thats days.lol
The website is sooooo good, but all their houses are in the wrong places, Corries and Kevins are supposed to be on the same side of town as Ellies but they’re on the other side and Chris’s is supposed to be closer to town.
We are hoping to create an amazing atmosphere on thurs 2nd Sept for the Premier of TWTWB – can you suggest some ideas for promoting this film – We are small and Independently owned and operated theatre about 1 hr north/west of Sydney – We hope to have a ‘fun’ time with this film and give the under stimulated youth of this area something to remember. Please contact us for any information you may have to make this a special event.
