just read an interesting article about the remake of Red Dawn, apparently production has been delayed because of the studio’s financial situation.
    the link is http://www.slashfilm.com/2010/06/10/more-mgm-fallout-red-dawn-delayed-perhaps-indefinitely/
for any of those twtwb fans that are worried about this remake.

    • WazzuMan says:

Wasn’t worried, though I’m aware there is already a lot of unhappy RD fans calling Tomorrow a rip off of their horrible movie. Anybody who has read the series and seen that eye sore know that is difinitely not the case.

  27. cee says:

ahhh who’s holding hands on 2:01?!!!

  28. Declan says:

FAR OUT! the bridge is EXACTLY as I pictured it! gosh i cant believe how close this is compared to my visions of it. John must just be THAT good of an author =D

  30. ALEX says:

really ecstatic that theres a movie coming out of possibly the best books concerning australia ever. but less than ecstatic upon realising that half of the cast is from home and away and neighbours. was hoping for nameless discoveries. BOO.

  31. Joanna says:

    About 1million excited. :D

  32. Dan says:

I remember reading all the books when they were first released, they hold a special place in my heart, but now all I can think about is that this is going to ruin it. The books are always better than the Movie remakes. But who know, we might be pleasantly surprised. I just hope they do it right…

  33. Fairy101 says:

OH MY GOSH…. I’m absolutely gobsmacked… the trailer is soo good.. I can’t wait for the film.
I’m sad that Corrie dies in this movie… wish they could change that…

  34. Ashleigh says:

OFMG! THAT WAS AWESOME! SO AWESOME IT WAS INSANE! I CANT WAIT!

  35. book fan says:

I totally agree with all the comments praising these books. I read them growing up too and absolutely love them. I was totally stoked when i found out a movie was coming out. BUT, after seeing this longer trailer i fear that its not going to do justice to the books and that they are really going to go over-the-top glorifying all the action/war and trying to make ellie and co. look like action heroes or something. I mean, whats with all the crazy weapons and machine guns they have, like come on, talk about typical hollywood stuff. Why not just stick to Marsden’s masterpiece? There is no need to alter these books in any way at all.

    • #1 fan says:

i totally agree with i mean RPGS!!!! wtf if i remember correctly they only had about 5 guns and very limited ammo, i do want to see how they get ak’s and an rpg though

    • WazzuMan says:

Not Hollywood, just movies. Please try to seperate books from movies, they can never be the same. It is impossible to do a page by page screen adaption of a book and the attempt would look terrible and ultimately boring. So what if they have a few extra guns they “souvenired” somewhere? Does it really affect the story? We are making a movie, remember, not repeating the book. We’ve already read the thing, so kick it up a notch.

      • book fan says:

Yeah of course they cant be the same, i agree with that. And also agree that you cant do a page by page screen adaption, I didnt mean that. Its just that action movies with big guns that go boom have been done to absolute death, the really good films these days are the ones that actually have a bit of meaning and dont just slip into another stereotype. It just makes them forgettable. It does affect the story because the emphasis is on the wrong thing and everything gets misrepresented. Marsden didnt need to go over-the-top to make his books awesome, sure the action was nuts in parts, but its not the essence of the books and what makes them great. Good films/filmakers will engage the audience without having to put a machine gun in the hand of every character.

        • not worried says:

how do you all know how much its gonna effect the story that the kids are holding guns in the trailer no one has seen it yet , who cares its a movie. if they didn’t have em the whole movie would be boring any ways it would be a shit load of hiding an exploding lawn mower and a bridge blowing up. how about we all just watch it first before we start criticising to much

      • tommo says:

i agree with that comment completly people dont seem to relise that if they made it they way the book it was written it would be an awfull film. as longs as they still capture the essense of the story who cares if they have a few more weapons or have more action scenes i think it looks like an amazing film that also stays by the essense of what marsden was writting.

      • Lauren says:

You’re missing the point. They’re not begging the film be identical to the book, they’re pointing out a fundamental necessity to the story. They were kids with limited weaponary, not last action heroes. Remember, they were reluctant to even carry weapons at times as they knew if they were caught with them they couldn’t plead that they were just innocent kids hiding in the bush. Machine guns are not very true to that philosophy.

        • Maarten says:

Compared with the weaponry of the enemy this can probably be seen as a ‘limited supply’. Also, this is the only still in the trailer that shows everyone carrying weapons, and it’s clearly after Kevin and Corrie went to the hospital. So it seems they won’t use them much in the movie.

  36. Chris Buckley says:

I have just got upto date with all the new stills and full trailer.Looks Fantastic!Caitlin and the rest of the cast are going to be brill. What a great chance for a young cast i’m sure the film will be just the start of the trilogy You guys in Aus will be able to see it in Sept.Any dates yet for the UK??

  37. tom says:

not sure how to cope untill september?? I have never been excited about a movie before this..

  38. greg says:

i am so looking forward to this , its almost stupid , god i hope they dont stuff it up !!
AND even if it dosent clear them a trillion dollars profit i hope they make the whole series . ” go ellie ! kill em all and let god sort em out ” wooo hooo !!

  39. Jimmy says:

i’m kinda annoyed the actors aren’t a bit younger.. like they are in the book but nevermind.. should be a killer movie anyway :)

  40. Ed says:

OH MY GOD im so excited for this! how in depth do you think the movie writers will go into lee and ellie’s relationship?

  49. Dougo says:

As a reader, I can’t wait. As an upper elementary teacher, I can’t wait. This has been a long time coming and if John Marsden is willing to put his name on these movies, they are going to be bloody good!

  50. Paula says:

Loved reading all the books when they first came out, when I was in high school. The waiting list at the library to read them! Have re-read them many times. Like faithful friends. Re-reading them now so I can remember everything before see the movie. When I saw the trailer when I went to the movies I was so excited I couldn’t pay attention to the movie I went to see. Can’t wait. If John Mardsen likes it, I’m sure fans will like it too. Its always abit of a worry whe they make a book into a movie.

  51. Rosie says:

    Bloody awesome- cannot wait
Anyone know what the song at the beginning is?
