Lincoln & Rachel as Kevin & Corrie
Kevin and Corrie have appeared!
The following article recently appeared in The Daily Telegraph.
LINCOLN Lewis hopes former Home and Away fans will cringe when they see him in his first major feature film – the $20 million action thriller Tomorrow When The War Began.
“That’s the way the character is written in the book,” he says.
The 22-year-old actor plays “Aussie ocker” Kevin Holmes in screenwriter-turned-director Stuart Beattie’s hotly-anticipated adaptation of John Marsden’s best-selling teen fiction.
“It goes dog, sport, and then girlfriend,” Lewis said of his character’s priorities.
Lucky for British actress Rachel Hurd Wood – from Perfume and Peter Pan – who deferred university studies to appear in the film, there’s more to Corrie Mackenzie than questionable taste in men.
Tomorrow When The War Began, which finished shooting in Sydney this week, tells of rural teenagers who return from a camping holiday in the bush to find Australia has been invaded.
While the rest of his companions step up to the challenge, Kevin goes to pieces.
“He’s emotionally immature. When trouble hits, you begin to see this guy get more and more scared,” says Lewis.

They look decently close to how I imagined them whilst reading the book. I’m glad that photos are being released of the characters in their roles, unlike when they were announced when they were just photos.
Whos excited?

I’m totally excited, but corrie’s hair is supposed to be curly and it is alittle. But I imagined it being big bushy curly red hair, not just red and wavy.

yay corrie and kevin look just the way i imagioned them, i can’t believe this moive is going to happen because it took them long enough to start one.

I cannot beliwe they cast him as Kevin…
I also don’t think he’s a good enough actor to play such a complex character…
I think he’s only onboard to get the teen girls watching…
VERY DISAPPOINTING!!

Hunnie, seriously this aint really disappointing! They look absolutely perfect! He’s totally licious and they certainty match! The only thing disappointing is the other guys. I thought lee was gonna be a wee bit hotter and same as Homer, but whom ever the director chooses is fine with me… i guess.

Yeah I’m also a bit disappointed as i imagined Kevin as just a normal guy, not muscly as he breaks down and cowers further in the books…

From Lincoln’s role in Home & Away he is an actor who can break down easily, and if I may say so, do a decent job at it. I think he is going to be perfect.

yea not really, who was it i recall who took his girlfriend to the hostpital in the middle of a warzone? he “steps up” in a way the others never did. it doesnt really matter i get the movie adaption thing, there has to be the character we love to hate.
p.s they do look good cant wait for the movie

Everyone is quick to label kevin as a wuss. But don’t forget what he did for Corrie. He went through some really traumatic times being captured three times, losing his best mate, and only once did he ever let his friends down (at the airfield)

i reckon. Reading that article again, and thinking back to the book the way i see it Lincoln obviously hasnt done his homework, kevin doesnt feature as much but hes a deeper character than they let on. & Kevin and Corries relationship isnt so one sided. I remember ellie saying something like they bring the best out of each other- (before the war).
i just hope they dont stereotype the characters
like they did in that stupid movie Australia, if they do ill cut sick.
i know its just a movie but im in love with the books!

They had been through several terrible things during the war. He left his dog when they were on the run, obviously sport was cancelled due to the war. Clearly the only thing left is his girlfriend, Corrie. So whats your point? It makes perfect sense.

The girl looks awesome and how I imagined Corrie…. But Kevin, please this guy needs some acting classes… in H&A he sucked balls. maybe I am being a little harsh… but these books are Australian classics and have such a strong, powerful and encouraging sprit to them. having that dipshit cast as Kevin and the other dipshit cast as Ellie really brings this movie to a crappy level. I agree with Trav complex characters need good actors and both these actors suck. They both must be on board to get the teens watching which is really sad. Hopefully they both surprise me and, but my expectations so far are not good.

Zoe, both H & A and Neighbours are both crappy shows which the scripts are written for the PG crowd and seeing as they are both screened 5 nights a week so the scripts are rushed and the actors can only do so much.
If you think this movie will be all “soapie” just because there are two actors from both these shows then you seriously have a small narrow mind obviously overlooked the fact that Stuart Beattie who written Pirates Of The Carribean, Collateral, 30 Days of Night, GI Joe is writing this screenplay and directing- check his work on
imdb.com which you’ll find he has never work on home & away and neighbours.

I back Chloe up. You can’t judge someone’s acting skills from work they did on shows like H&A and Neighbours. Besides, acting is one of those things you learn and improve as you go with experience and this movie is a great opportunity for Caitlyn and Lincoln, but I suppose you weren’t even thinking about them. And anything, watch what you say about other people. Those who insult others don’t get much respect from the rest of us.

Ok, guys as I have said in my other comments. Maybe I am being a little harsh. I am just really disappointed with the casting and I hope that Stuart Beatie can bring out their acting skills. As I know he is a good script writer. I hope I enjoy it and I’m proved wrong, as this book series is a classic and I want it to do well. Your right WazzuMan acting skills are learnt as you progress and I wasn’t thinking about Caitlyn or Lincoln, because to me it’s more important to think about portraying the character and the story then helping them progress with their skills and career. Also I’m not after respect from you guys, I just wanted to express how I feel about the casting as others have expressed theirs.

I don’t think kevin, even though the oldest one of them all, shouldn’t be actored by a 22 year-old.
Remember it is just heroic time. At the start when they all go into Hell, KEVIN get scared by little, tiny bugs. And basicly went spastic like a dog and chasig his back. I wonder if Lewis Linclon can master kevin’s character?
